AdventHealth Medical Group 2026: Doctors, Portal & Billing

National patient guide · Doctors, MyChart, urgent care, billing and medical records

Use AdventHealth Medical Group Without Choosing the Wrong Office, Bill or Care Setting

AdventHealth Medical Group is a national network of more than 2,000 physicians, advanced practice providers, residents, fellows and faculty members. Its practices provide primary care, pediatrics, surgical care and specialty medicine across nine states.

The size of the network creates more choices, but it also means that office hours, insurance participation, appointment types, forms and medical-record contacts are not identical everywhere. This guide explains the network-wide patient process and shows exactly which details must still be confirmed with the local practice.

Call 911 for an emergency. Do not wait for a MyChart reply, virtual urgent-care visit or physician-office callback when someone has chest pain, severe breathing difficulty, possible stroke, serious bleeding, poisoning, seizures, loss of consciousness, a major injury or another potentially life-threatening condition.
National network, local office rules: AdventHealth Medical Group operates across several markets. A provider’s hours, accepted insurance, cancellation policy, record-release process and appointment options must be confirmed on that provider’s profile or with the local practice.

Start with the correct care setting

Which AdventHealth Medical Group service should you use?

PRIMARY OR SPECIALTY PRACTICE Routine, preventive or ongoing care

Choose a medical-group practice for annual care, chronic conditions, medication monitoring, referrals, planned tests, surgery consultations and specialist follow-up.

Best for: wellness visits, diabetes, blood pressure, pediatrics, cardiology, women’s care, orthopedics, digestive care and planned procedures.
URGENT OR VIRTUAL URGENT CARE Prompt non-emergency evaluation

Use urgent care for many minor illnesses or injuries when a regular provider is unavailable. Eligible patients can also access 24/7 Virtual Urgent Care through an AdventHealth Account.

Best for: flu-like illness, sore throat, rash, minor cuts, sprains, strains and other non-life-threatening concerns.
911 OR EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT Serious or rapidly worsening symptoms

Emergency departments are open 24 hours and are equipped for heart attack, stroke, major trauma, complex fractures and other dangerous conditions.

Do not substitute a portal message, video visit or urgent-care queue for emergency treatment.
Fast decision: Use your regular provider for care that can be planned, urgent care for non-life-threatening problems needing prompt attention, and emergency services when delay could threaten life or permanent function.

Connected national network

What AdventHealth Medical Group is—and what the shared record means

AdventHealth Medical Group is a coalition of physicians, advanced practice providers, residents, fellows and faculty members connected to the wider AdventHealth system of hospitals, laboratories, imaging facilities and urgent-care centers.

One connected system

Participating AdventHealth providers can access information within the shared health record to improve continuity and reduce repeated record transfers.

Primary and specialty care

The network includes family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, surgical care and numerous medical specialties.

Hospital and outpatient access

Patients can move between physician offices, laboratories, imaging centers, urgent care and hospitals within the larger health system.

A shared record is not always a complete record. Historical records, outside-provider information, sensitive records and documents created in a different system may not appear automatically. Confirm that the treating clinician can see the information needed before an important consultation or procedure.

How to find the right AdventHealth Medical Group doctor

Search by medical need Enter a condition, specialty, doctor name or practice name. Searching by condition can help when you do not know the correct specialty.
Add your city, ZIP code or address Set a reasonable distance so results are limited to offices you can realistically reach.
Use insurance as a starting filter Add insurance information when available, but still verify the exact provider and location with the insurer.
Check new-patient status Look for an “Accepts New Patients” label. Availability can still differ by appointment type and insurance product.
Look for video-visit availability Some profiles display “Offers Video Visits.” Call the practice when the required visit type is not available online.
Open every relevant location A provider may work from more than one office. Confirm where your appointment, test or procedure will actually occur.
Save the direct office number The location profile normally lists the practice telephone number, fax, hours and directions.
New-provider call script
“I found [provider name] in the AdventHealth Medical Group directory for [specialty]. Is the provider accepting new patients for [condition or visit type]? Does this location accept my exact insurance plan, and do I need a referral, authorization or previous records?”
Find the exact practice

How to choose the correct AdventHealth Medical Group location

Match the full practice name
Confirm the provider works at that location
Check the street, building and suite number
Verify the appointment date and arrival time
Check whether the office is hospital-based
Ask whether a facility charge may apply
Confirm parking and building entrance
Save the practice’s direct telephone number
Verify whether laboratory work is on site
Confirm the procedure location separately
Former practice names can appear. The location directory may show “formerly known as” information. Use the current AdventHealth practice name when scheduling, but keep the old name when matching older medical records, bills or referral paperwork.
Online or office scheduling

How to schedule, cancel or change an appointment

NEW PROVIDER Use Find Care

NO SUITABLE TIME Request or call

Use Request Appointment when available, or call the office directly for additional dates and visit types.

An appointment request is not final until the practice confirms it.

Cancel or reschedule through MyChart

Open Visits Sign in and select the Visits quick link or open the appointment from Health Updates.

Save the cancellation confirmation Keep the email, message or confirmation screen in case the appointment remains visible.
Appointment call script
“I need a [new-patient/follow-up/preventive/procedure] appointment with [provider]. My insurance is [full plan and network]. Do I need a referral or authorization, which forms or records are required, what may be due at check-in, and what is the cancellation deadline?”

Relevant outside medical records
Recent imaging and laboratory reports
Names of current specialists

Verify the exact provider and service

How AdventHealth Medical Group insurance participation works

There is no single national insurance list that safely applies to every AdventHealth Medical Group provider and practice. Participation can differ by state, market, provider, address, plan, employer network and service.

Provider network

Confirm the individual clinician, not only AdventHealth as an organization.

Practice location

The same clinician may practice at office-based and hospital-based locations with different billing.

Separate services

Laboratory, imaging, anesthesia, pathology, hospital and facility charges may follow different contracts.

Read the complete insurance product Use the exact plan, network, employer group and member identification information.
Call the provider office Ask whether the provider accepts that product at the exact location.
Call the insurer Verify the provider, address and planned service using the member-services number on the card.
Ask about referral and prior authorization Confirm whether your plan requires PCP approval, precertification or a designated facility.
Check every expected biller For procedures, verify the physician, hospital or surgery center, anesthesia, pathology, radiology and laboratory.
Save the reference information Record the representative’s name, date, reference number and approved provider or service.
Hospital-based outpatient warning: Some AdventHealth Medical Group offices are hospital departments. A visit may create a professional fee and a hospital facility fee, which can produce separate deductible and coinsurance amounts.
Insurance-verification script
“My insurance is [complete plan and network]. I am seeing [provider] at [exact address] for [visit or procedure]. Is the physician in network at this location? Is it hospital-based? Will there be a facility fee, and do I need a referral or prior authorization?”
Understand every balance before paying

How AdventHealth Medical Group billing works

AdventHealth submits the claim Facility, physician and other AdventHealth charges are sent to the primary insurer using the information provided during registration.
The primary insurer processes the claim The insurer applies coverage rules, deductible, copay, coinsurance and contractual adjustments.
A secondary claim may follow When valid secondary coverage is on file, the secondary claim is generally submitted after primary processing.
The patient receives the remaining balance Non-covered services and the patient’s contractual responsibility become due after processing.
Compare the bill with the EOB The insurer’s Explanation of Benefits is not a bill. Use it to check allowed amounts, payments and patient responsibility.
Online payment

Pay through the AdventHealth Account or use Guest Pay when account access is not needed.

Payment methods

Options may include credit or debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and CareCredit.

Payment plans

Eligible patients may establish an interest-free payment plan online or through customer service.

Why the online balance may differ from the mailed statement

AdventHealth states that statements are generated every 28 days while online balances update daily. A recent payment, insurance adjustment or new charge may therefore appear online before it appears on paper.

When a bill does not appear in MyChart

Network-partner bill An anesthesiology, pathology, radiology, emergency or other outside partner may use a separate billing system.
Different regional system Texas, Illinois and other partner markets may use a separate payment route.
Insurance has not finished processing Wait for the Explanation of Benefits or call when processing exceeds the expected timeframe.
Wrong guarantor account A child’s or family member’s balance may appear only after switching to that person in the Sharing Hub.
Billing-question script
“I am calling about account or statement number [number] for service date [date]. My insurance Explanation of Benefits shows [status or amount]. Please explain the physician charge, facility charge, insurer payment, adjustment and remaining patient responsibility.”
Plan costs before scheduled care

Price estimates, Good Faith Estimates and financial assistance

HOSPITAL-BASED SERVICE Use the price estimator

AdventHealth provides estimates for hundreds of commonly scheduled hospital services through its online tool or financial-services team.

Call 1-833-369-2678 for hospital estimate assistance.
PHYSICIAN OR URGENT-CARE VISIT Call the clinic directly

AdventHealth instructs patients to contact the physician clinic or urgent-care center for an estimate of those services.

Have the procedure name or code, insurer, group number and subscriber ID ready.
UNINSURED OR FINANCIAL HARDSHIP Request assistance

Qualifying insured and uninsured patients may apply for financial assistance for medically necessary services.

Apply through the AdventHealth Account or call 855-241-2455.
Request the service details Ask the ordering office for the procedure name and available CPT, HCPCS or diagnosis codes.
Identify every provider Ask whether a hospital, surgeon, anesthesiologist, radiologist, pathologist or outside laboratory will bill separately.
Verify insurance benefits Confirm deductible, coinsurance, copay, authorization and network status.
Save the estimate Keep the service description, provider, location, estimate date and expected patient portion.
Compare after treatment The final amount can change when the actual service, time, supplies, medication or complications differ from the estimate.
Good Faith Estimate timing: AdventHealth states that scheduled patients should receive a written estimate at least one business day before the service. Delivery may occur through text, email, mail or the AdventHealth Account.
Financial assistance may not cover every bill. Outside physicians and service partners may have separate financial-assistance policies even when care occurs at an AdventHealth facility.
Billing dispute and collection prevention

What to do when an AdventHealth charge appears wrong

Request an itemized bill Use the AdventHealth Account or call customer service to review individual services, supplies and facility charges.
Compare the itemized bill with the EOB Check the patient, date, provider, procedure, insurer payment, adjustment and patient responsibility.
Call customer service Ask for a review at 855-241-2455. AdventHealth states that the disputed amount can be placed on hold during review.
Write a formal dispute when necessary Include the patient name, account or statement number, dates of service and a clear explanation of the disputed amount.
Continue paying undisputed balances A dispute concerning one charge does not automatically stop normal billing for unrelated amounts.
Written billing grievance address
AdventHealth Customer Service
PO Box 935979
Atlanta, GA 31193-5979
Do not ignore repeated statements. AdventHealth states that patients receive at least four statements before an unpaid balance may be referred to collections. Contact customer service early to request review, a payment plan or financial-assistance screening.
MyChart, office request or signed authorization

How to request AdventHealth Medical Group medical records

MYCHART ACCESS Review records already available

Open MyChart and review Visits, Test Results, Medications, Plan of Care, Preventive Care, Document Center and other record categories.

Best for: convenient access to information already released into the account.
COMPLETE OR FORMAL COPY Submit an authorization

Contact the physician office or facility that created the record and complete its authorization for release of protected health information.

Best for: another doctor, insurer, attorney, disability request or complete historical chart.
IMAGING FILES Contact the imaging department

Request radiology images or films directly from the department that performed the examination.

A written imaging report and the actual image files are different record products.
Identify the record holder Determine whether the record came from a medical-group practice, hospital, imaging center, laboratory or outside partner.
Select the useful date range Request only the period and document types needed unless a complete chart is necessary.
Enter the receiving physician completely Include the physician’s name, mailing address, telephone and fax number.
Use one recipient per authorization when required AdventHealth states that a separate form may be required for each physician receiving records.
Sign with legal authority Adult patients sign for themselves. A guardian, healthcare agent or estate representative may need supporting documents.
Save submission evidence Keep the signed authorization, eRequest confirmation, fax confirmation or mailing receipt.
Transfer within AdventHealth: A physician on staff at an AdventHealth facility may be able to access relevant AdventHealth records directly. Confirm this before ordering a duplicate paper copy.
Birth and death certificates are different. AdventHealth Health Information Management does not issue official vital-record certificates. Those documents must be requested from the appropriate state or local vital-records agency.
Medical-record request script
“I need records created by [practice or facility] for dates [range] sent to [recipient]. Can the recipient access them within AdventHealth, or do I need a signed authorization? Which form and submission address should I use, and do I need to contact imaging separately?”
After the visit

How to handle results, refills and follow-up care

A result is not visible Ask whether the test is complete, whether the provider has reviewed it and whether it has been released to MyChart.
A result is marked abnormal Do not interpret the flag alone. Reference ranges and clinical importance depend on the test, symptoms and medical history.
A prescription refill is needed Submit it before the medication runs out and confirm the medication, dose and pharmacy.
The pharmacy has no prescription Check whether the office requires a visit, laboratory monitoring, prior authorization or a different pharmacy.
A specialist has not contacted you Confirm that the referral, authorization and supporting records were sent to the correct practice.
An order is missing Contact the ordering office and verify the destination facility and fax or electronic-order route.
Symptoms are worsening Call the treating office for clinical guidance or use urgent or emergency care according to severity.
You need another MyChart account connected Use the MyChart account-linking feature to view information from compatible outside organizations.
Result follow-up script
“I completed [test] on [date], ordered by [provider]. Can you confirm whether it is complete, whether the clinician has reviewed it, how I will receive the interpretation and what follow-up action is required?”
Practical patient shortcuts

Tips that prevent repeat calls, surprise charges and wasted trips

01
Match the exact practice

AdventHealth Medical Group contains many separately named offices and specialties.

02
Check the state and market

Billing and partner branding can differ in Texas, Illinois and other regional markets.

Ask whether the office is hospital-based

This can affect facility fees, deductible and coinsurance.

04
Use eCheck-In early

Correct insurance and medication information before appointment day.

05
Keep the direct office number

Clinical questions belong with the treating practice, not the national billing line.

06
Verify all procedure billers

The physician, facility, anesthesia, pathology and radiology groups may bill separately.

07
Save estimates and authorizations

Keep the service, provider, approved location, reference number and date range.

08
Check Guest Pay carefully

Match the account, patient, state and statement before submitting money.

09
Request imaging separately

A written imaging report does not include the actual radiology images.
